About Hideki Matsui

Hideki Matsui, nicknamed "Godzilla," is one of the most beloved players in Yankees history. After a legendary career in Japan's NPB, Matsui joined the Yankees in 2003 and became a fan favorite for his clutch hitting and professionalism. He is best remembered for his 2009 World Series MVP performance, where he drove in 8 runs in Game 6 to clinch the championship for New York. Matsui was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2025.
